Introduction
Over the past few decades, the economic gap between the rich and the poor has widened dramatically in many parts of the world. While globalization and technological progress have created unprecedented wealth, they have also deepened inequality within and between nations. The concentration of wealth among a small elite has led to growing social and political tensions, while millions struggle to afford basic necessities. This essay will examine the main problems caused by income inequality and propose possible solutions to create a fairer and more balanced society.
Body Paragraph 1: Social and economic consequences
One of the most serious problems caused by the widening wealth gap is social division. When a small percentage of the population controls the majority of resources, resentment and distrust grow among lower-income groups. This can lead to increased crime rates, political instability, and even social unrest. For example, movements such as “Occupy Wall Street” and widespread protests in Latin America have been direct responses to the sense of injustice created by economic inequality.
